For some reason we have a heck of a time finding knowledgeable student assistants to work in Web Services.
I don't get it. Everything students do today is Web-based, but nobody at our school seems to be interested in doing Web design or Web development. Maybe it would help if we had some Web-oriented programs on campus. Maybe.

ROFL....it's funny because it's true :-)
Nice. Very nice. We have difficulty finding good student labor as well. It all comes down to defining roles.
It's as true for staff, sadly, as it is for students.
I love how our new media group gets all these requests from people to be involved, and when we use terms like "RSS" or even "Facebook," some of them look completely lost.
I have no problem with people who admit they don't know and want to learn -- hey, I'm one of them for some of this stuff -- but for the posers, I have only disdain.
It doesn't explain a lot. It explains everything.
definitely true of both student and professional staff! and the initiator of hours of frustration, if you waste time on that kind of thing.
